Happy Easter 2008!!!!!

Spring has sprung and Easter is here! This is the time of year I began to think about my ancestors and family that has passed on and what the resurrection truly means to me. I am so grateful for my Saviour and what he has done for me so I can live forever with my family.

We hope you are all enjoying your beautiful Easter weekend. We have been blessed with great weather and beautiful sunshine!!!!! YEAH
We went out to the west of Utah Lake to join family and friends for the day on Saturday. We played cards, rode 4wheelers, colored eggs, ate too much junk and hunted for over 500 easter eggs. It is a good time and a long tradition. It was a blast!
To watch the excitement on the kids faces when they found the eggs made it so worth the trip that took us 2. 5 hours to get to. :) Because of a forgettful memory, Jim and I went to the old camping spot instead of the new and thus were very late to the lunch date. Funny HA HA! It's always a good time to go camping, getting dirty, enjoying the mts, and being free from the stressors of everyday life.

Sunday morn we got up, had breakfast the kids got to see what the bunny brought and then we went to church. Our kids were pretty good as I sang in the choir and Jim was alone with them. They enjoyed church and learning about the real reason we celebrate Easter.
Now is time for Easter dinner. Since our Aunt Trudy, dads sis-in -law, died and it came as a total shock Mom and Dad Innes drove to Arizona yesterday to pay their respects and I am having Jolene, her boyfriend Dino, and Amy over for Easter Dinner. Wish me Luck!
HAPPY EASTER!!!

My one and only "Tag" post

Well, since Leslie tagged me I will post - only cuz I love her. I really am not into the tags, hehe.

I was on my mission in CA, serving in the Tujunga branch. That was my favorite area, lots of good memories there. Hope to drive through there again someday.

5 Things on my list to do Today

1. Get more details transitioned for the school's changeover to University status.
2. Finish and submit a review for RC Heli Magazine
3. Work more on my next article for the magazine, due this weekend
4. Fix a few database issues and get the bosses new computer setup started
5. Get a workout in and go to bed at a decent hour for a change

What would I do if I were suddenly a Millionaire?

Pay off all the bills, house, etc. Look for a decent piece of land somewhere and build a modest home with a flying field behind it. Give some money to our parents, they have earned it, and a little to each sibling. Take a few vacations with the kids, and then get back to normal life. Would still work no matter what - at least one job anyway.

3 Bad Habits

1. Going to bed much later than my 4:30 AM wake up time agrees with
2. Not putting my dishes in the dishwasher (its still new to me)
3. Calling people back, I am seriously horrible at it, I forget often. Emails, I am 100 times better at remembering.

5 Places I've lived

1. Lehi/Orem/Provo, UT
2. Inglewood, CA
3. Thatcher, AZ
4. Mesa, AZ
5. East Los Angeles Area, numerous cities

5 jobs I've had

1. Produce Boy at Kohlers
2. Injection Molder at Preseco in Midvale - fun times
3. Computer Tech at UVSC
4. Test Lab Manager at UniDyn
5. Now, LAN Specialist at UVU, Janitor for a Dr. Office, and an editor/writer for RC Heli Mag

5 things people don't know about me

1. I won a DARE essay contest in my younger days
2. I have never broken a bone in my body
3. I cannot roller skate or ice skate for the life of me - numerous failed outings, may try again, who knows
4. I speak spanish, but not as well as I used to
5. I love shooting, really like it, but havent been for a very long time.

Where will I be in 10 years?

Who the heck knows. I may still be at UVU, I may not. I will have a teenage daughter - so my hair will sure to have thinned.... I do hope to be a bit wiser, healthier, and not working 3 jobs by then - one would be great :) I dont know if or how many more children we might have, but we will be done by that time for sure (I will be 41). I do hope to be a good dad and husband. And on a personal note, I do hope to be better at flying my helicopters 10 years from now... I also, of course, hope my family and friends are still healthy and that I can keep in better contact with them over the years.

I tag nobody. You are all free :)

Tag you're IT!

Ok I was tagged even though I agree with Sarah I hate running so it's a good thing this doesn't involve it

I had just turned 16 and was surprised with a Bright Orange old regal buick. It seated a ton and was a t top! So fun, I worked at Jack N Jills Bowling alley in the diner and was very overworked and underpaid.

5 Things on my list to do Today

1. get over this crappy food poisoning so Jim can have a break
2. laundry
3. do some work for my HUGE  St Pattys Service day monday
4.  spend some time with kids
5. Practice my choir music for the Easter Program. We have an awesome choir!

What would I do if I were suddenly a Millionaire?

Well first a new house that I designed not Huge just a bigger kitchen few more rooms for storage and a garage! Get completely out of debt. Open my kids a college fund and invest. I would probably some of it to a charity and take Jim on  a vacation.

3 Bad Habits

1. Going to bed late and having a hard time waking up when I need to TOTALLY ME!!
2. Bite my cuticles till they are sore and bleed.
3. Taking home work ie baggage of Jr High Students

5 Places I've lived

1. Vernal, UT
2. Lehi, UT
3. Cedar City, UT
4. Orem, UT

5 jobs I've had

1. Jack N Jills Bowling Alley Diner late nights, greasy food, lots of wierdos offering all sorts of things to a young pretty girl like me.
2. All American Deli (I was even flashed by a sicko working alone at night there)
3.  Iron Parke Turn Services -a agency who helped those with disabilities with everyday needs, cooking, shopping, crafts, cleaning, appts.... I LOVED IT!
4. I was a census counter person in 2000 that was interesting
5. And now I work with the good old Orem Jr High kids with my 4-HAfterschool & Mentoring Program!

5 things people don't know about me

1. I broke or badly jammed all 10 toes at the same time in a trampoline accident
2. I got hit by a car in the 8th grade, flew 25 feet and didn't break a bone..
3. I tried plus sized modeling in 10 grade and was offered to move to NYC and take a shot but couldn't do it
4. I  went to National History Fair in 7th grade and got one of the 8th superiors
5. I hate food.. really.. It takes me forever to decided what to eat and often I forget

Where will I be in 10 years?

That would put me at 36 so.. I will be done with having children  I would think, but will have more than I have now I hope. Jo will be 14 so I will probably be the insane mom of a girl teenager hehehe! I hope to have school done and be a Radiologist and have Jim at a job he loves.

I tag Ashley McKinnon, Hayley Haws, and my hubby Jim

SILLY KIDS

Just our kids being cute and silly!

Thursday, March 6, 2008

I have to post this because its just funny. Dad Innes always falls asleep while we are there .. even if its not on Sunday. You know what they say early to bed, early to rise makes a man.... Dad is pretty wise I'd say but this pic with the giant teddy bear doesn't back that up too much.. HE HE

**JIMS NOTE: Its a funny pic, but in dad's defense - Jo was sitting there with grandpa and the bear just seconds before; but you know Jo - cant stay in one place for very long :)

Getting Old but better looking!!!

This past week it was my turn to have a birthday, 13x2 I tell my students. (that's 26 btw)
I have accomplished in my 26 years but man has just flown by too quickly.
My weekend, I stayed home with kids while Jim went flying Sat and really enjoyed getting things done and playin with the kids. Jo has been sick so it wasn't soo fun for her but she is getting better now and Ryker has it.  :(

Sunday, with sick kids, Jim offered to stay home while I attended church alone. I hate to admit it was nice to actually feel the spirit and take in the testimonies born for once without handing out pretzels, taking walks, coloring.... BUT I do love my kids!

After church we went to Mama Innes' house. It was nice to see her as she has been in Phoenix with Crystal and Richie and the new baby D. Who is sooo cute!

MOM made delicious red sauce enchiladas for dinner. Usually I am not a huge fan of any kind of enchilada sauce red or green but these were TASTEY! She is such a good cook!
After hanging out with the family and helping Ang create her new blog we ate the cake. Mom was very thoughtful and remembered I don't really prefer regular cakes, especially chocolate so she served an angel food cake with berries, cool whip and ice-cream.  One of my favorite light desserts! It was delicious!!! THANKS MOM INNES

Monday on my actual B-day I got to go to lunch with my own little family, @ MIMI's CAFE it was good. That night I got to endure a VERY HARD and time consuming chemistry test in Lehi.

Afterwards,  we had another little party at The Herberts house with PAPA JOHNS PIZZA my favorite  and again a delicious white cake and ice cream. It was a good time. Thanks for everyone who took part in it. Being with family is the best of times for me, making my birthday a great one! Now... if I could just pass that chemistry test.... hmm keep your fingers crossed!

THE CUTEST KIDS EVER

GIVE SOMETHING BACK!!!!

WANT AN OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE?

I have tentatively scheduled a session at the Happy Factory in Orem for next Sat or one of the evenings if you can. If any of you don't know what this its a great service to children all over the world that was started in Cedar City Ut years ago check it out at www.happyfactory.org They take scraps of wood, from local cabinet shops and make make little toys cars for kids who don't have much.
So this is about service and I have booked a date for 7 adults to come and make the toys. I need people to run bandsaws, drill and sand the toys. Then I will take the toys to my school for their service project to dip in mineral oil and then assemble for one of the service projects.
If any of you in the area want to come join the fun I could use your help! This is an opportunity to give something back.

ALSO if any of you want to come help at Service Day St- Pattys day from 3-5 I need you there too.

We will be doing variety of projects hopefully. We are going to do the toys, make ABC books for Kids on The Move, tie a twin quilt for the hospitals and make some fleece ones where you just cut and tie, and we are going to hopefully help Mountainland Head Start out with coloring and cutting and laminating some of their projects for the teachers. I will also have Pizza there for dinner. So come play with us!

SERVICE PROJECT and MENTORS

Hey All

I hope you are doing well. I am looking forward to a nice day tomorrow as is Jim. I am with MARAN no more snow please!!!! I want to play at the park too and ride bikes, and just be outside in the sunshine.

So besides loving my job, being busy, prepping for a CHEM test Monday, being a mom and the responsibilities that come with that I am loving life and that it's the weekend! However, I am still working so I need some advice and some volunteers...

1st of all I need mentors for my Orem Junior High kids. I have 7 kids who needs mentors. A mentor is someone who wants to dedicate 30mins-2 hours of their week to a youth ager 12-14. If you are interested or want to more let me know...

ALSO...
I am in a bit of a bind...
I have only 2 weeks from tomorrow to get a HUGE Service Project together for my Afterschool kids. There will be about 40-60 of them and it has to be done at the school. ANY IDEAS would be much appreciated as I know you all have awesome advice.

I wish you all a nice weekend.. get out and enjoy the rays, I know I will.

JO and JIMS 2008 BDAY

Snow, Helis, and Sleepovers?

On Wed. night after work I too got stuck on the freeway in the white out. I left orem at 5:15 and pulled into Lehi Jr High for school at 6:25 crazy it usually takes me 15 mins. I think i waited a good 25 mins just between the last american fork exit and the lehi one and that is not a far distance. AND after all that school got cancelled. GRRR Oh well its kickin my trash anyway. So I went to my mom and dads. Dad had dinner almost done for he and mom and invited me to join him, since new mom would also be stuck on the freeway. I did some homework, talked with cousin Nakell,  and watch Deal or no Deal with Dad. Then at about 9:00PM I dared the drive home and surprisingly it was a fast, normal commute.  I too was glad to be safe, not stuck in the snow and really  glad I wasn't one of the teachers that had to sleep  at their school with the elementary students in Alpine.

Today Jim has been building a helicopter for a review for the magazine he writes for. He loves to build his machines. It is 2:27 AM and I am bloggin? hehehe yeah I know I should be doing homework and I am gonna pay for it in the morn. But oh well...but earlier tonight Feb 15th I got to go to dinner with my 1st year college roomies. It was soo fun! We went to Mi Ranchitos  sp? in AF and then took a tour of Brooke and Chances awesome new house that is near the "sleep over school in Alpine! FUN STUFF! It was nice to get together. We are so lucky to have the 4/6 within 15 mins of each other.

Well now I think I will go to bed... or do some homework! YEAH RIGHT

We have been BU..SY!!!

These last few weeks have been a whirlwind of fun and important events, to just the same old stuff but we won't bore you with that.

Jo celebrated her 4th birthday on the 31st of January with a SpongeBob themed family birthday party at grandma Herberts house. It was fun, we played 'button button" anyone remember that game? The kids loved it and it was fun to watch my mom play with the little kids she is just a kid herself somtimes. Then we had cake and ice-cream. Jo and I earlier that day made cupcakes that were a marble mix of yellow and chocolate cake mix and filled them with a twinkie like based filling. Then we topped them off with cream cheese frosting, yellow sprinkles, and a mini playing card with the one and only SpongeBob on it. They were great for the kids and it was cheap compared to a $45 dollar cake. Jim had a purchased german chocolate cake for he and the extra adults.
We also broke a Pinata... well not really, they don't make them like they used to. I guess maybe to many black eyes? I dunno. NEWAY her spongebob pinata had several ribbons attached to his bottom and it was just a lucky string that opened him up. It wasn't as climatic as is bashing him to pieces but it was safer and he is reusable if anyone needs one? JO was very spoiled as she ALWAYS is with presents galord. It was nice to be with the whole Herbert clan, the Humes, and the Woodbury's some very close family and friends. We are so blessed to have such great love and support from our familes. We love living so close to be able to call on them in time of need and that they can watch our kids grow up weekly as they grow up all too fast.

Jim's bday was the following Saturday the 2nd. He is the BIG 31 years and is doing great. After watching the touching funeral of our dear prophet Pres. Hinckley, we went on with our day. He went flying of course it was very nice weather and that has been rare here this time of year and I went shopping.. for him of course. After the sun set and the shopping was done we finished off the night w/ another Herbert dinner party at "Goodwood" a delicious smokehouse here in Orem. This was a treat for Jim as he is very strict to his diet and is kicking trash with it. It was again nice to be with the whole family and enjoy a meal that mom Herbert or Innes hadn't slaved all day over. We love being around family and our kids love their grandparents on both sides a ton more than us boring parents.
Sunday we got to go to the Innes for more cake and fun. First yummy homemade Cafe Rio, then the Superbowl....GO GIANTS... and then cake and icecream for Jim and Jo again. It was nice and Holly and Jarin came and played too.

Now this past week I have had work events, school which I sluffed b/c I was just too tired. I hosted a successful Bunco on Thursday and it was fun. THEN Sat I hosted a baby shower for Angela and Alessandra at my mothers house...AKA the "party house." I appreciate her, her talents, and her house! Every one was willing to pitch in with food or help in someway and that was nice as it was the 3 big dinner or meal I had to prepare that week and I was beat. We had a nice baked potato bar with all the fixins, soup, salad, homemade rolls, thanks mom Herbert, costco cake and mom Innes' the ultimate brownies thanks mama Innes. It was a success, I think anyway, and I didn't have much food left because of the awesome  attendance. It was great to be with friends and family and see all those cute little baby clothes. We will miss Ang and Ross when they move away so it was nice to be able to do it for her.

That night Jim and I got to finish our very busy week with a nice adult only Ward Valentine dinner. It was good food, "funeral dinner" nice and relaxing and great entertainment.

Hello to you!

Not much is going on too post about but we do have some funny pics.
I have been super busy with work this week and school as its a new semester for both. The kids are growing more and more each day. Jo is starting to talk better. She is also now trying to be fully potty trained even at night! HALLELUJIA!!! We have also discovered she loves to watch football with her daddy. He can't be happier! She will be 4 on the 30th.

Ryker is getting to be really good at listening to me. When he starts to throw his food from the highchair to the floor I say "ok time to clean up" and he gets down and picks it all up! WAHOO! He also tries to help me unload the silverware in the dishwasher and set the table.

Jim has started exercising on his new air climber and eating better. He is trying to lose weight and be more active. I am trying to support him in this but it's hard. If he isn't going to eat with us I don't even want to cook dinner just for me and the kids when I know the kids won't even eat it! So I guess I am dieting too but not as healthy as he is :( that is kids get leftovers or something easy and I eat.. cereal.. hehe

That is our news! Nothing really exciting but the pics below are the kids playing on the air climber and also them in a junior sombrero hat that my bro and sis in law brought back from the Mexican Cruise vacation.. Ahhh vacation, warmth, sun, swimming ... that sounds good right now. It is soo cold here right now. When Jim gets up to go to work at 5 ish it is like 4degrees BRRRR... I mean when it's this cold and I hate the snow.. I really wonder why I live in this state?

Now.. back to the grind!

What a busy break we had but also what a fun one! From Innes Family Pictures to The Vegas Bowl, Christmas and all that comes with it, and then New Years... we had a blast. We were always running around but it was fun!

Some highlights of our break...
*We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Morning at Grandpa and Ma Herberts and Dig and Stacee joined us in the morn. We had a great time opening gifts eating breakfast and laughing at JO's excitement.
*Grandpa Herbert made Jo her very own white cupboard kitchen and Santa, Mom and Dad and the Herberts all gave her the fixins to go with it! She and Ryker love it!
*Ryker got a cute little fourwheeler that drives  from Santa and A ride on dumptruck from The Innes Grandparents. He loves them and has to say "bye bye" everytime he gets on them.
*Christmas Day Afternoon we had a fabulous time at the Innes' rocking out to Guitar Hero III on the Wii and constructing puzzles. The traditional Lasagna was absolutely delicious. Thanks  Gwamma Innes!
*We ventured out to the "Bee Movie" with both kids! It was a success. Ryker fell asleep for half of it so that was nice too.
*Gwamma Innes held her yearly New Years Eve Party with food and fun. JO got to play with Ella and Aiden so it was fun.
*Jim and I celebrated our 5th anniversary!!! Time Flies!
We are back to work and to school and to structured scheduled once again. We hope you all are happy and having a great new year!

Merry Christmas!

Hi everyone, this will be our families Christmas letter this year. No stamps, no mail, no fuss :) We appreciate the letters we have received so far, it is always good to hear from friends and family.

We are grateful to be where we are in our lives. This time of year, once finals are over, gives us time to reflect on the past year and on the blessings we have received. We are blessed with two adorable children that are healthy and bring so much joy and fulfillment to our lives. We are blessed with employment and the ability to make sure our kids are fed and clothed, as well have a home to live in. We are blessed with wonderful neighbors and live in a ward of our church full of really nice people. We cannot forget our loving families, both near and far. Both Leslie and I are blessed with wonderful parents, loving siblings, and great aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. - all of you mean so much to us. Your presence and help in our lives cannot be thanked for enough, but thank you nonetheless.

Of course, at this time of year we cant help but be grateful for a loving God whom gave His son, Jesus Christ, as a Savior for all mankind. All human beings are blessed by a loving Heavenly Father, rather they acknowledge His presence or not. What a loving gift Jesus gave - the gift of salvation and example. As we start a new year shortly, we hope to live better lives and to try and follow His example with more diligence. We also want to be able to spend more time with all of you; which is something we have not been able to do often enough this year.

In standard boring Christmas letter tradition, here is an annual update on our family:

JIM - I am busy as sin, as usual. I am still working at UVU in the parking department. I work with some great people. I also still janitor at a local doctor's office, and of course do my writing/editing for RC Heli Magazine. The writing is my favorite job of the three, and is the one which I hope to grow on and move towards as a career over the coming years; time will tell. I still enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife - even though there isn't much time to do so. I still love her with the fervor of a young honeymooner, but now with the added deep attachment our time together has brought on. She is the most important thing in my life, followed closely by my two children. I take any free minute I have to spend with my kids. I love playing with, reading with, and just being with them when I can. They are a pain at times, but they mean the world to me. Anyway, enough emotional crap eh. I am still flying RC helicopters every chance I get and love to build, setup, fly, and talk about them. I am also still an avid reader and tinkerer. This year I got to help do quite a bit of work on our house, I say help because Mike and Joy really did a lot of it. We were able to put in new windows, a new front door, new kitchen counters, a dishwasher, and a new hot water heater this year.

LESLIE - Leslie is great. She has been going to school again - looking at radiology as a trade. In addition to running the home and school, she also started working for 4H this year. This job as an after school leader has given her a lot of fulfillment and joy. It takes quite a bit of her time, especially in the evenings - but she has found joy in it. She is really busy as well, but Leslie does so much for our family and is the rock for our children; she is truly amazing. She still enjoys seeing her friends and family when there is a chance, as well as working on home projects and scrapbooking (something she hasn't had enough time for lately). She really enjoys her calling as the Primary music leader at church and she does great at it - the kids love her. And for some reason she still loves and puts up with her large and sometimes crazy husband; trust me he knows how lucky he is. Leslie also still loves the arts and hopes to find time to dabble in acting once again. We try and see as many plays/musicals as possible as theater is one of her true loves. She loved seeing "How Newt Ginggrinch Saved Christmas" at the Desert Star last week.

JO - Jo is nearing four years old now. Her biggest achievement of the year is that she is basically potty trained. She still has her moments, but she is becoming such a big girl and helper. She loves going to nursery and looks forward to primary next year, as well as pre-school. Her favorite activities are going to her grandparents and friends houses, reading, playing house, watching her movies, and shopping. She learns more everyday and is a cute little girl - even though she has a mean streak that rears its head occasionally. She is truly a blessing in our life. She is my little girl, and I already worry about her more than I do Ryker; as all dad's do with their daughters. She really has a big heart and a lot of love to share with everyone.

RYKER - What can you say about Ryker? He is my little buddy, my "mini-me". He is truly a sweet little boy that loves boy things. He is now 19 months old, talking a little bit, and smart as a whip. The kid loves anything technical. He loves to put things together and take them apart. Give him some cars and trucks and he is in heaven. Every time a helicopter or airplane flies by he points up at it and says "woohoo!". He loves to help me fly on my simulator as well as help me fix helicopters (Jo does this as well). Ryker also has a knack for climbing and getting himself into trouble. He can climb almost anything and because he is so tall and big (he wears 3 year old clothes), he can reach things that a 19 month old just shouldn't be able to get to!! We adore Ryker and are grateful for him in our lives.

Thanks for reading this, I know its wordy and boring, but it is our Christmas letter and tradition demands that these letters be such. We do hope that you all, near or far, have a Merry Christmas and that you get to spend some extra time with your loved ones.

Love, The Innes family.

I can breathe!

It is 11:59 PM on Wed the 12 of December. I am actually going to get to bed before 1am maybe. This is the first in a week or so.
That said, I am officially done with school for 2007! I loved my Medical Terminology class but the psychology class was so rushed I am afraid I didn't even get anything from it but a headache from no sleep. But. nevertheless it's over and I am glad. I am grateful to get to go to school for low cost and a husband who supports it, so I shouldn't whine.

Now School is Over I plan to finally...
1- CLEAN my house.. I have never gone this long with a un-mopped kitchen floor!
2- Finish the Christmas tree, its been up since the Sat after Thanksgiving but with Jo taking all the ornaments off to "match da colors" and Ryker turning them into rollable balls, I have had to redo it 3 or 4 times. So maybe I will the get the bows on it and post a pic.
3- Get my shopping done as I am usually done by Dec. 10, what a shame :)
4- Spend some time with my family ..Jims works party, Zoo Lights at Hogle Zoo, a movie...
5- And... well work. I still get to work but you already know I love that! Just not at finals time!

So good luck to you who all still have tests and stuff! Take Care--I am off to bed!

Some pics for San Antonio Texas

This is a little town called La Villita. It was just a hop skip and a jump from our hotel. It is the older part of the town, just down the river from the hotel full of artistic shops and stuff. This amphitheatre is still used and the 5 bells represent the 5 missions in Texas. I bought some cute skirts and a hand made pottery plug in nightlight for the kids here!

Then a pic of me at the best and cheapest place we ate at, The Mexican Manha
ttan. A ton of Jim's helicopter bud
dies from all over the nation told us to go the
re. True
 authentic Mexican food in very
large portions. I also left this hat there but was lucky to get it back that evening.

Then while on the Riverboat Ride at night we drove passed one of the bigget malls ever
right on the river front. This river is
more like a canal but man its a neat tourist attraction and the food is good and not too pricey. How would it be to take a riverboat taxi to work everyday?

Next is the famous Alamo. It was a very n
eat place. What an incredible story
it has to tell. We were there when unfortunately a huge school group came with young kids and it was a little
 crowded and loud.

So later that evening we went back and were fortunate to see it lit up in blue lights for the Worldwide Diabetes Awareness day. I guess lots of famous landmarks were lit up in blue, The Eiffel Tower, The Empire State Building, Leaning Tower of Pisa and some more. I mean how many people can say they saw the Alamo in Blue.

Like I said in my earlier posts. It was a nice get away the people were kind and I really could have stayed another week and been entertained.

THANKSGIVING!!!

Hey All

First of All!!! We hope you all had a very nice and relaxing Thanksgiving! We are grateful for you all and miss all of you we haven't seen in a while!

It's pretty cold here and I hate it. If it's gonna be cold there better be snow. I am seriously considering being a Sunbird when I am older! HEHE

So some of the radio stations have been playing Christmas music since Oct right, and the stores have the stuff out way early now right. Why? Money? However, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because its all about family, and blessings not present or some imaginary gift giving person or animal. We don't have to break that bank if everyone does there part, we get to just eat a ton of food, gain 10 lbs and not fill guilty and reflect on what we have, not what we don't. I am so grateful for this day and I wish it wouldn't get skipped in the worlds view you know. I like Christmas and all but man the earlier you start it I feel the sooner you want it to get here and get over with right!
OK so... that said....

We have soo much to be thankful for. As I sit and ponder I just can't get the little homeless boy we gave food to in San Antonio out of my head. I am so grateful to have a warm home to come home to with food in the cupboards (even if it's just soup sometimes) and fridge. I am grateful for my awesome husband who works his tail off to provide for us the lifestyle we both want. I am grateful for my little kids even though they drive me up the wall sometimes. I am also grateful for my new job and the fulfillment it has brought to my life. I am very grateful for medical insurance. And last I am ever so grateful for both my extended families who are always willing to help us out in many different ways and love us unconditionally.

So on to the BIG DAY!!! We had dinner at the Herberts this year with about 25 people, lots of kids, very loud, but it was good food. My favorite is the yummy carrot pudding my mommy makes for one of the 12 desserts and I love candied yams. I did homework I know boring but that is what I get for procrastinating my psych online course, while the family played cards, the Wii and watch the ballgames. It was a great time. In the evening we went to Mama Innes' house and just hung out it was nice to just relax.

Since this lovely holiday we have accomplished much at home. My parents have been here several times to put the finishing touches on our kitchen, I got some homework done, we finished the kitchen, we put up our Christmas, did some shopping (yes I am one of those crazies that likes to go out the day after Thanksgiving!) and managed to make it to Sacrament ALMOST on time this morn. No really I know you are all laughing but this is a big thing for us. We have early church, only 6 more weeks or so WAHOO!!, and the kids and I hate to get up the morning. WE are NOT mornin people so JIM will tell you it takes much to get me up.
And then we just sit in the foyer because Ryker is soo loud in and our overflow echos.. so anyway, we almost did it today, however, we had to leave early because Ryker smacked his head on the rock wall in our foyer and it needed medical attn. Just a small puncture wound is all and we took some advice from a nurse and superglued it together. It wasn't fun, he cried but it worked.
I know you also are all thinking what silly people, super glue, but really that is what they use in the war fields and it absorb into the skin. I didn't want the poor little guy to have to go through the trama and pain for 1 single stitch at the ER. And thankfully my mom, a nurse agreed as she looked at it tonight!
So yeah that has been our weekend. I will post pics of my beautiful kitchen when I get my new curtains done. I hope you are all doing so well.

PS.. so Jo thought since we set up our tree that it was Christmas last night. WE just could not get her to understand it was far away even with the calendar so I was bracing for major upset this morning. But since she loves church soo much, nursery really, she didn't even think about it not being Christmas this morn thank goodness.
Christmas coutdown...29 days!

Update! and Dancin Kids!

Just a quick update!! We just got back from the beautiful San Antonio Texas on Friday! I will post pics soon! It was so fun! Jim and I got to do some touring, shopping and ALOT of walking! The kids got to stay with both grandparents and got spoiled rotten! I also did a lot of psychology homework while Jim went to his classes for work.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOME NEWS not nearly as exciting as Jake and Kerries though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OUR HOUSE!! Last Saturday Jim and a friend in the ward put in NEW WINDOWS in our 40+ yr old home and what a difference it as made. It was hard work they worked from 9am -10pm and the next day Jim was sore! I am so glad though. We have been wanting them since they day we closed. The ward friend, Jon Gledhill, works for Jones Paint and Glass here in Provo. we purchased them through Jones' and then paid him only $500 versus the company cost of $1300 for labor. It's so nice! The kids rooms aren't freezing when I go to check on them anymore. The heater is not on ALL Night Long and the outside noise is almost unheard. And my house looks good now to just paint the siding, put the new doors on and shutters!YEAH!!!

MORE** Friday afternoon we pulled up to our house and who is here Papa Spike! My dad was here with the kids working hard and giving me an early Christmas Present!! He and my mother built a whole new beautiful countertop, got rid of the old 60's white with gold speckled, and put in a dishwasher! YEAH!!!

Today Sat we have been working on just touching up the cupboards and re texturing the wall that had the old fermica on it! It's really coming along! We will post pics when its all done!

ME!!! I have just been working away getting the mentoring program started at my school however I am lacking mentors hopefully my one will recruit 9 friends. I love it though. Here comes the real fulfillment in my life, changing others hopefully. I also sang in relief society with some ladies a few weeks ago it went well. School is going well. I only missed 1? on my 3rd Medical Terminology class and I was excited because I had just realized I had the test 2 days before so I hadn't even read the terms. My other class is a whole other story.

JIM...This last Thursday... Jim discovered he has kidney stones and passed one last Thursday afternoon. It nearly floored him and since they say its almost worse than childbirth I sympathize. He has been quite a trooper though. So with this...we told Jo she couldn't crawl on him because he had rocks in his belly, so she told him " Daddy you are not suppose to eat wocks they're gwoss" pretty funny, we thought. And all the weekend she keeps asking him if he is ok, or if he feels better as she brings him little candies, gum, apples... to make him feel better. On the trip he felt great!

JO...Another funny things she said this week.... I was getting ready for the day and she was in her room, she asked for my help and I said in 1o mins. Soon 5 mins. passed and she walks by on her way downstairs and says " you took too long!" and just kept walking. What an impatient bunch of kids we have. She is getting smarter and working on her letters. She can recognize the SWTYJO... so thats a start!

RYKER! He hit his big 18 month birthday on the 9th. He is such a joy so funny to be around. He has started saying cheese and loving the camera. He loves to play with any blocks, and microphones and of course his cars. When he plays he jibber jabbers in that cute little high-pitch voice and it just makes me giggle.

Another funny thing he did this week while at grandpa and ma Herberts!
Mom had just put him to bed in this crib, and went to shower. When she got out she heard a loud thump and then pitter patter or little feet, the toy cupboard open, the basket of toys being pulled out of it and then she looked out of her room and there was Ryker. He has shook the very old crib so hard that the side fell. Got out (its a very short crib) and then went to play. When my mom walked out he started running in circles and grinning from ear to ear. He was so proud of himself!! Little Stinker!

LAST... We were exploring other people and family members blogs before we left on our trip and we came across Cousin Nicky's band myspace page: "So Called Tragedy". Here is a clip of the kids just dancing to their music from the webpage! ENJOY!!! we did!
