"You don't get a kiss for that!"

In Primary last Sunday Jo's class, Sunbeams got to do sharing time on Repentance. They all got to pretend to make a bad choice and then the primary will tell them that is was bad with a thumbs down and then the sunbeam had to say sorry (repent) and then fix it or make a good choice.
THE KIDS LOVED IT!
So Jo was playing with her teacher and the teacher had a toy and Jo ripped it out of her hands and then laughed. (She didn't need any coaching on this one) It was really funny but kind of cute. Then she said sorry....yada yada

So since that day we have been focusing on making good choices. So far, now it's ony Thurs. but we have only had 2 bad choices made which are at bedtime or way past it. I am so excited that we may have found something that works for her.

SO she is funny... When we do something she likes she says "You get a kiss or that!" and plants one on us. It is soo cute well last night she was delaying bed time by stating to say she saw ghosts. I was like whatever I will show you a ghost so I started making the" oohh ooohh boo" sound. She said , MOM, You don't get a kiss for that!" SOO FUNNY

Wish us luck with our new discipline plan she is very "Strong willed" hehe! :)

Jo's First Day of School!!

Jo liked her first day of pre-school.  She loved recess and snack the best of course. She wanted to bring friends home with her. I am glad she liked it and adjusted well now on to day 2

She told me while going home that her teacher was like a boy. I was soo confused I said, "How, She has beautiful long hair?" She said "No mom her name is like a boy because it is PJ like BJ." Well what a smarty I thought. Then I told her that she shouldn't tell her sister she is a boy she said I won't mom I am only tell you.

Now on to pics! JO was sooo excited that I couldn't get her to sit still to take a decent pic. These just show the energy she has hehe. She is holding a cutout doll of her it was her homework from parent teacher night. We had to make the doll look just like her, we did our best and she drew on the face!

Her outfit, lets just say she picked it out. Jim said when he got home that she looked she was going to school in the old days heeh I still think she is cute though!

New Rooms, Callings and more!

~~~~Hello ALL!!!~~&~~Happy Back 2 School!!~~~~
UVU starts tomorrow so Jim, and of course my mom inlaw JoAnn, are crazy busy at work. WE both are not currently enrolled in school but since its a major goal and one of the reasons we quit cleaning, we are working on it.
Jo starts her first day of preschool today at 12:38, wierd time I know. She is soo excited for it but when asked about it she says "Yes, but I am NOT getting shots!"  We have warned her about her kindergarten shots and she thinks they are closer than they really are. I hope all goes well today at school for her, I know I am going to enjoy it! Her teachers name is Miss PJ (Patti JO) how cool is that?
WE have the annual Utah Helicopter Assoc. Fun Fly this weekend in Lehi Thursday-Sunday. Jim is in charge of some of it and so that is where we will be off and on. It is an exciting time, but also a stressful one. It takes a lot of work to get it all together but it all pays off in the end. This year B.A.C.A. is coming on Sat as they funfly is donated some of the proceeds to them. They are bringing a live band and a nice bike that they are doing a raffle for this year. I am excited I LOVE BIKES!
I start back to work in a week. I am really excited to get back to working with the youth of OJH. However,  we lost 58K in grant money last week and they have to pull the mentoring program out of all the middle schools. It kind of broke my heart because I have worked soooo hard getting mine going and I have really loved working with my youth this summer. What does this mean? Well instead of 30 hrs a week it will be 20. No more mandatory Family Night Outs or Mentor and Menteee Activities which means I am not going to be gone at night as much which is good. Which leads to time for church callings, family, and SCHOOL. But I am gonna miss those kids, I feel like I am abandoning them, however they WILL stay  in the program just will be under an Elementary school  site coordinator.
Speaking of youth, Jim got released from Sunday School President and is now the Deacons advisor and asst scout master in the Young Mens Program. He is excited but nervous at the same time. He has a  great group of boys in our ward but they are ACTIVE!
Oh a recap of Jims trip. IT WAS EXHAUSTING! When I picked him up at the airport he was tired and warn out. He said the whole experience was more work than fun by far but that is why he was paid to go right? He had a good time all in all.
Here are some of the highlights
*meeting the pros of the hobby
*seeing new helicopter gear that is being released this year
*meeting his magazine boss for the 1st time and getting along well
*watching all the flights especially night flying
*watching all the crashes, a few in mid-air
*seeing the BATMAN movie on an IMAX WOW! "Wanna see a magic trick?"
*hanging out with his friend Brent from here who says we bring RVs and our families next year
  I had fun at home with mom the kids and my sister. We painted the front room, Rykers room, tore down the old metal shed in the backyard, did some shopping, scrubbed some big rugs, and just enjoyed conversation and time together. It was a great time.
And last I been rearranging furniture, making Cort and Daniels invites and just enjoying my last few days of summer.
I will post pics soon promise.
While the daddy is away, the wife gets to play?
Well Jim left this morning for a dream job assignment. He is at IRCHA, in Indiana, which stands for International Remote Control Helicopter Assoc. I think? Anyway it is a huge event with competitions, giveaways, 700 pilots and 6-7 miles of runway. He didn't take his helis as he is on business but still he gets to be around all of them and the pros.
This week I watched the Lewis boys again this time it was Kayden and Derek who are 9 and 6. Then I had my kids. We had a good time playing GameCube, swimming and computer.
Today, well technically yesterday since it's after 12, I got to take some of my 4-H Kids to the Utah County Fair, it was an adventure but all in all a good time and their projects, wooden or ceramic frames, all got 1st place and/or made it to state. It's so exciting and a small cash award is given with each ribbon!
While Jim is gone I have some BIG projects on my list. One of them I just finished with my mom. We painted my front room upstairs. I will post pics when it's all dry and the furniture is put back. Other projects include dismantling an old shed, maybe building a wall in the basement, some sewing and scrapbooking, and more painting. WISH ME LUCK!
Soon the summer will be over and things will change. I will be back to working 30 hours a week, working everyday at Orem Jr with my 120 4-H kiddos. I am actually excited to get back and NOT be teaching or having to plan the weekly club.  Jo will be in preschool 4 days a week and she is estatic! We met her teacher tonight Miss PJ she was sweet. I hope to squeeze in a college course and Jim too so all in all our life will have less spare time. BUT no complaining here I  love my job, to learn new things, school. I have had a great summer and my family has not been neglected.
SO.. anyway...I better get to bed. I haven't been to bed B4 12 this last few nights as I have been loving watching the LIVE Olympics.. this night, although no Olympics, still is not any different.
GOOD NIGHT!
Summer is slipping away!
Hello All!
The other day Jo and Ryker got in the diaper and wipes boxes and played a while! I thought it was really cute. They played great until Jo stole Rykers box and then we had fits and tantrum, time out and tears, and then... 5 mins later there was laughter and love again! Ahh isn't life grat being a parent.  :)
The other night Jim and Jo played legos together. They made some castles and robots. It was really cute to see them play together and have some daddy daughter time.
This last Friday I went on a relief society retreat overnight with some ladies in the ward. We went to a cabin in Fruitland and really enjoyed ourselves. We crafted beaded bracelets, and book marks, ate lots a yummy food, got pampered with pedicures, foot rubs, eye masks, and facials and played some games. All the pampering stuff we made up there with food and it was soo fun. I am grateful to have good friends in the ward and I always seem to get to know more when I attend this awesome retreat.
SAt night we went to the Lewis Celebration Day in Salem. They blessed Brandon and they celebrated 3 birthdays Jolene, Kayden, and Derek.  It was a great BBQ and fun to get together with them. We used to do it monthly with dinner but life just go too busy.
Jim and Arlund Lewis went to Lehi High school together and they have a group a friends that remained in contact and get together. It was fun! I felt a little out of place as always but it was still fun. Jim and I jammed out on ROCKBAND  he on the guitar and I on vocals.. NOW THAT was FUN!  The were many kids so Ryker and Jo were just in heaven and all and all it was a good time!
